Jordan Haynie Ware, long characterized as “the Episcopal Leslie Knope” for her tenacity, drive, and commitment to following Jesus in the Anglican/Episcopal way, is the author of The Ultimate Quest: A Geek’s Guide to (the Episcopal) Church and “Defeating Violence Against Women Throughout the Realms,” which appears in the volume Rape Culture, Gender Violence, and Religion, edited by Caroline Blyth and Emily Colgan. Jordan serves the Church as rector of Good Shepherd Anglican Church in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. Previously, she was a priest associate for youth & young adult ministry in Fort Worth, Texas, where she also chaired the Commission on Ministry for the diocese. She served on the Episcopal Church-United Methodist Church dialogue committee for full communion from 2015-2017. A 2007 graduate of the University of Texas at Austin and a returned Peace Corps Volunteer (Ukraine), she graduated Yale Divinity School in 2013.
She lives into her geeky identity every week at the Pathfinder table, where her current character is an urban hunter. Jordan lives in Edmonton with her husband and their retired racing greyhound.
